Coupe-Like Mitsubishi SUV Teased for Geneva Debut

Looks like finally, after giving us literally a ton of awesome concepts that went nowhere, Mitsubishi is ready to launch a hot new crossover at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The new compact Mitsubishi SUV is described by the manufacturer as seriously sporty in character and “coupe-like” in appearance. The teaser image sure looks pretty intriguing.

If this production Mitsubishi SUV crossover thingy has inherited even fifty percent of the DNA of those concepts car it is going to be a looker. The interesting thing here is that in launching the new model Mitsu is not dropping the ASX or the Outlander but rather looking to place the new crossover in a complementary position so as to bolster their SUV range. With no new Evo to suck resources away, the Japanese car maker is back doing what they do best, and what sustains them financially, which is making tough and sporty 4x4s.

We’re going to have to wait a bit longer to feast our eyes on the new Mitsubishi SUV, so for now we refrain from talking about its looks and leave you with the words of the manufacturer itself describing what you can expect: “Sharper in its expression than a conventional coupe, this new, compact SUV will feature highly chamfered contours with a wedge-shaped belt line and a distinctive V-line in the rear quarter stemming from the forward-slanted C-pillar and the chunky, muscular rear fenders.”
