BMW Middle East group selected Oman to host its 7series training program. This three day driving event backs the regional launch of the car. BMW 7 series actually owes a lot to middle east as a Lebanese and an Iranian are parts of its designing crew.

Oman was selected to host the training as it is renowned for its scenic landscape and dramatic mountain roads, providing the ideal environment for testing and learning about the new 7 Series.

Professional BMW trainers from Germany and the UK conducted the training, which included theoretical, driving and competitor sessions, and focused on the new technology, EfficientDynamics and design features for the 7 Series.

The driving sessions were conducted on the scenic mountain roads of Oman, offering participants the opportunity to experience the latest BMW technology such as the Lane Change Warning system, Lane Departure Warning, iBrake, Active Steering, Night Vision, Head up Display, iDrive and entertainment functions.

BMW team members from sales, after-sales, parts and accessories, marketing and PR executives from 11 Middle East markets attended the sessions to familiarise themselves with the new design and technology features.

The new 7 Series model enters the Middle East market with two brand new engine variants – the inline six cylinder 740Li and V8 750Li – both with twin-turbo technology and direct fuel injection.

A class-leader in emissions reduction, the new 7 Series has been designed around BMW’s robust EfficientDynamics strategy – encompassing many technology innovations to offer outstanding performance and a reduction in fuel consumption and CO² emissions. The BMW 750Li is the most fuel efficient engine in its performance class and produces 407bhp, accelerating to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds.

Two Middle Eastern designers took the lead on the new exterior and interior design. Lebanese designer Karim Habib was responsible for the exterior and Iranian designer Nader Faghihzadeh the interior.

The exterior has a long bonnet, short overhangs and dynamic lines adding to the dominant road-presence of the new model. Large classic BMW vertical kidney grills impose a strong on-road presence.

Inside, the new 7 Series is a modern rendition of pure luxury. The ambience is exclusive, sophisticated and inviting. High-quality materials as well as enhanced space and luxury give the interior a beautifully harmonious feel.
