Mercedes finally revealed official shots of the new E-Class Coupe which will be unveiled at Geneva. That means that the lovely CLK badge is retired. But we are going to miss it as the E Coupe seems to be the perfect replacement. Just can’t wait to see the new E-Class Coupe Black Series!
Although the design is heavily influenced by the E-Class sedan, this car has managed to be elegant and sporty at the same time, which appeals to both younger customers looking for thrill and older more sophisticated ones who wanna have their mid-life crisis in style! The car looks business and there is no major flaw in this term. And it’s not just a pretty face, the body is so aerodynamic it achieved 0.24 Cd same as Toyota Prius!
The coupe is prepared to take on Audi A5 and BMW 3-series and for that it’s equipped with a full armset of new and revised engines. The weakest one got 200hp and it goes up to 382hp in the E500 and we are not talking about the AMG variant yet! Usually it takes about a year for the AMG version to come out but we can be sure of 500+ hp for that one. As for diesel engines, you get 4 and 6 cylinder with power range from 200 to 288 hp but the good thing about them is the fuel economy. For instance the E250 CDI with 200 hp and 500 nm of torque burns only 5.3 liter per 100 km.
Mercedes E-Class Coupe comes with the latest technologies like the sleep warning, road signs detection system, automatic emergency braking and automatic adaptive headlights to mention a few. It also has the updated active suspension system to assure a dynamic handling, something it really needs to face the Bimmer.
Inside the E-Coupe features four separate sport seats which are electrically controlled with memory, rear seats can be folded to increase storage space. The dashboard and gadgets are the same as the E-Class sedan.
The car will go on sale worldwide in May expect for America, they must wait a bit longer until third quarter of the year. No mention of the price yet but expect a press release from Mercedes soon.
