Many people and companies see the fuel crisis and global warming as new business ventures which is good for the environment but it is also bad news because we have to see more and more uncool green cars. One of the companies looking for some money in this green market is Italy’s Tazzari group with their Zero.
For 3 odd years they’ve been developing this cartoon car which is an electric Smart-rivaling mini car. The specs are a bit funny! It weights 542 kg and is powered by Lithium-ion batteries. It makes the most of its 20 horsepower to get from 0 to 50 kmh in under 5 seconds and can’t go any further than 90kmh. So it cannot challenge the Smart in terms of performance. But while you have to refill the smart at pumps, Tazzari Zero owner will only have to plug it in a power outlet and it takes 45 minutes to get fully charged and give another 140 km range. The car will hit the market sometime this year with prices starting under 20,000 Euros. It is available with 15 different colors!
It all looks very brilliant, very promising, but just imagine yourself driving this thing around… OMG! I’d rather crawl 🙂
