Here we go again! Another overdone Mercedes Benz by ASMA tuning center rolls into streets of Abu Dhabi and stops in front of Emirates Palace hotel in Corniche for some posing shots! You certainly remember the SLR based Perfectus we featured earlier, this one is based on the Mercedes CL and is called Phantasma! To be really honest with you, it’s not as bad as the Perfectus!

Of course, this hideous ASMA grille is always ugly as $#%& but that’s what gives it the character and sets it apart from others. Whoever buys such car definitely wants to stand out in public and this Phantasma does that well. However I doubt it if anyone but car geeks look at it and realize it’s a Mercedes at first glance!

German tuners (most of them) might not be very good with styling, but as far as mechanics go, they are brilliant. For the Phantasma, they took the same V12 Bi-turbo which powers the Perfectus, but fiddled with it so the outcome is now a colossal 725 hp and 1185 nm of torque! Geeeeeez! A normal CL65 AMG does 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds which is fast by anyone’s standard, but Phantasma manages that in 3.8! which is supercar fast! and while the CL65 is limited to 155mph (250kph) this car keeps going up to around 210 mph ( 335 kph).

And of course while you can have a CL65 for around $200,000 the ASMA Phantasma can easily double that!
