This not so small 5-door hatch back covered in typical BMW camouflage is the first prototype of the next generation BMW 1-Series which is due 2011. New 1er will be based on the 3-series platform and will come with an extended range of petrol and diesel engines.

2011 1-Series will feature a totally new face with revised bumpers and grilles and headlights, with the addition of LED daytime running lights, but the dimensions of the car don’t seem to be changed and that’s a pity because one of the major flaws of the current 1-series is the awful rear legroom.

Like the current model there will different variants of this car like the 3-door, convertible and the coupe, also rumor has it that there will be a shooting brake version specially designed for the American market.
