Lotus ramps up Evora production

Due to high demand Lotus is ramping up Evora production limit to 2000 cars per year. They have already received several hundred orders throughout the globe and expect more as dealers start to take delivery of the car and more people get to drive it.

A spokesman form the Norfolk-based company told Autocar :  “We can say that we have several hundred orders worldwide and are ramping up production steadily. Planned full volume production is 2000 cars a year, and we’ll reach that in the next few months.”

initially, all of the production Evoras are powered by a 272 hp Toyota V6, but Lotus is planning a top-spec 350 hp model, as well as a drop-top variant which is some years away. Lotus Evora will also gets its own single-make racing series like the Exige.
