Hyundai had promised this R-spec model a long time ago and now it is finally ready to be displayed at 2009 SEMA show and go on sale right afterward. The Genesis Coupe R-spec is a cheaper version of the car which lacks some of the luxury goods, but instead it is more performance minded. Hyundai believes that it will be a perfect car for tuners! And since it costs only $23,750, it’s a very nice sports car for the young generation as well.
The R-spec is not fitted with stuff like Bluetooth, automatic headlights, cruise control, trip computer, chrome interior accents and steering wheel audio controls, but not also it is considerably lighter, that helped with the price cut too as it’s $3000 cheaper than the regular Track model.
The car is powered by a 2.0-liter low-pressure turbocharged intercooled four-cylinder engine with dual continuously variable valve timing which has 210 hp and top speed of 137 mph and a great potential for modifications! In its original form, this engine averages 30 mpg.
It is fitted with more sporty and racing-like features than other models in the range, including:
