Some months ago Renault announced production of totally new Fluence model in their new Oyak-Renault plant in Bursa, Turkey which is exclusive to the markets like Turkey, Russia and Romania. But now that the battle of making Zero-Emission Electric Vehicles is heating up between manufacturers, the French company also confirmed production of the EV variant of the Fluence in the same line as its conventionally-powered non-clean brother!

Producing the future EV at Bursa allows Renault to benefit from the site’s excellent performance on quality, cost and lead times, along with local sourcing. As a result, the Group will be able to market the zero-emission saloon at the same attractive price as internal combustion models.

The EV Fluence will be just as refined and well-equipped as the rest of the range by having the same level of elegance and comfort. But as for the batteries that are going to run the car, you will have three options: standard charge, rapid charge and ‘QuickDrop’ battery exchange.

Production of Renault Fluence EV will start from the first half of 2011 and the car will be firstly unveiled in Israel and Denmark and then gradually reaches other markets. But this is only the start of a new era for Renault as they have decided to mass market a complete range of affordable zero-emission electric vehicles starting in 2011.
