As you now from Spring 2010, BMW will bring back the six-cylinder version of its 7-series flagship sedan to the American market. This might sound like a basic 7er, but still it costs you well over 70 grand! It is very good value for money though, considering that it offers 7-series features with BMW’s efficient six-cylinder turbo engine which is really one of the best engines ever made by the Bavarian company.

This twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine develops 315 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 330 lb-ft of torque from 1600-4500 rpm. That’s the kind of power you get from a big V8 but with much better fuel economy. Some of the features of this high-tech engine include  All-aluminum construction, High Precision direct fuel injection, Double-VANOS variable camshaft technology, and Brake Energy Regeneration. BMW EfficientDynamics philosophy is really at peak here! The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Pricing starts at $71,025 for the 740i and $75,425 for the 740Li (prices Include $875 Destination and Handling charge).
