BMW announced pricing and options of the American Spec 2011 5-Series which include the 535i I-6 and the 550i V-8. Despite all of the new things, the new model is significantly cheaper than the last year’s. The 535i powered by a turbocharged six-cylinder in-line starts from $50,475, which is $1,650 cheaper, and the 550i with the 4.4 liter V8 from $60,575, which is $900 less. Both model has a $875 Destination & Handling charge.

Both models also come with BMW’s 8-speed automatic transmission, which can be also swapped with a 6-speed manual at no cost. Also thanks to BMW Ultimate Service, your services and maintenance will be free for the first 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are a number of optional packages for you to order including: Active ventilated seat Package, Convenience Package,Cold Weather Package, Driver Assistance Package, Dynamic Handling Package, Premium Package, Premium Package 2, and Sport Package. The last package includes some high-tech features such as Adaptive Drive, which encompasses Driving Dynamics Control, Electronic Damper Control, and Active Roll Stabilization as well as Integral Active Steering.

It also comes with new driver assist equipments for a relaxed driving experience, including: Parking Assistant, Top View cameras, and Frontal Collision Warning with application of the brakes when ordered with Active Cruise Control plus Stop & Go, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, a Head-Up Display, and BMW Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection.
