Audi has added a new member to the new A8 ultra-lux saloon range by revealing the long wheelbase version, no not in America but in China! With a length of 207.4 inches and a wheelbase of 122.9, the A8 LWB easily beats both BMW 7er and Mercedes S-class LWB. And it comes with a sort of interior that makes even the Maybach’s look like a Japanese hatchback! And above all, it features a massively powerful W12 engine.

So let’s start with this amazing W12 FSI direct injection which churns out 500 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque and with the help of the Quattro system enables this supersized saloon to go from zero to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Not only this unit is more powerful than the old W12 by 50 hp, it is 12 percent more economical and cleaner.

But this car’s party piece is were the rear passengers will seat, which is like a lounge really! It only has two individual seats, but each is like the business-class cabin of the Airbus A380, only better. You get every single toy you can imagine, four-zone climate control, double sunroof, electric seats with massage feature adjustable in a million way, two big TV screens, folding tables, refrigrator, … and of course you get a superb Bang & Olufsen stereo with 19 speakers and more than 1400 watts.

Audi A8 LWB will go on sale in America this Fall, with pricing to be announced.
