Pagani Zonda is going out with a blast as its swansong, Zonda R sets a new Nurburgring Nordschleife lap record just this morning! It covered all 20.832 km of the ‘Ring in an astonishing 6mins 47secs, beating the previous 6mins 58 secs record of Ferrari 599XX. Like the 599XX, Zonda R is not street-legal, and is designed specifically for track use.

It comes with a 740 hp version of that magnificent V12 AMG engine Pagani has been using for years, but the R has no luxury at all, so it’s very very light at only 1070kg. And it can go from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, and it has a top speed of 218 mph. So, that explains why it has such an incredible performance.

Although this car has been sold out months ago, but if you go to Pagani and slap 1.5 million Euros on the table, they’ll be glad to make another one just for you!
