With every new iteration of the Gallardo, Automobili Lamborghini donates a few of them to the Italian Police, so they can show it off to the law enforcement of other countries who get Volvo and Peugeot and Vauxhall! They are not really used as patrol cars, not just becasue they’re impractical but also they’re painfully expensive to run and maintain, but they’re not just for show either. Recently the Polizia di Stato let loose one of them good drivers to take the new Lambo to the Monza for a spin, and here’s some footage of it. It’s just a pity the Italian Police livery is so uncool! The car would look awesome in a black & white livery.
