Karim Habib, who became a famous car designer becasue of the BMW Concept CS and the current 7 Series, is heading back to the company that made him after working nearly two years for their main rival, Mercedes Benz. So he was either unable to adopt Mercedes’ way, or BMW had sent him over to Stuttgart for a mission! But now he’s back in Munich to become the new head of exterior design.
He replaces Anders Warming, who’s been named the new design chief at Mini.
“I’m really delighted about coming back to the BMW brand and being given the opportunity to help shape the future of BMW as part of an outstanding team,” says Habib.
Adrian van Hooydonk, Director of BMW Group Design, confirms: “Karim Habib is an excellent designer who has already made a major contribution to the BMW design with the current BMW 7 Series. I look forward to resuming our collaboration,”
