Mercedes is apparently readying a hot hatch based on the next generation A-Class. They already have the A200 Turbo, which might be hot enough for some people, but this new one will be powered by AMG and will have 320 hp and four-wheel-drive! Plus, the A-Class as we know it has never been a proper hatchback, it’s more of a shopping trolley!
So with that potent engine and AWD system it’s clear that Mercedes is gunning for the Audi RS3 as the main rival, but they can also cause some trouble for the newly introduced BMW 1-Series M Coupe and VW Golf R. What’s more, the new A-Class AMG – allegedly called the A25 AMG – will also look the part featuring a lower wider body which is totally different than current models.
It’ll also feature new platform which the next B-Class will also be based upon. The shape of the next gen A-Class will be previewed on a concept at next year’s Shanghai motor show.
