In spite of its hideously ugly looks, BMW X1 is selling like hot cakes. BMW has also launched a M Sport package for it. Now though, they are apparently thinking why not an X1M?

There is definitely a good market, so yes why not! Of course the X1 being a SUV, sort of, the X1M won’t be all sport sport. The M treatment for this car, if such a thing is being considered in the first place, will include visual upgrades and better on-road ride and handling. Also it won’t be getting a V8, the twin-turbo straight-six that powers half of BMW cars these days is a more likely candidate.

We are still worried about the appearances though. I mean the current M aero kit they’ve introduced for the car only manages to make it uglier. Chances are they will make the same kit a bit more dramatic for the full-on M model, and that won’t be good.

We should point out again that it’s just a rumor for now and there is no official words on it yet.
