Luxgen just schooled all the big car manufacturers on making electric cars. They proved an emission-free EV does not have to be ugly or slow.
Revealed at the 2011 Auto Shanghai, the Neora concept features a nice and trendy design inside and out and uses a 180kW electric motor as the source of power, backed by 48 kWh lithium-ion batteries.
Claimed performance figures for this amazing car are truly astonishing. It takes 6.5 seconds to get from 0 to 100 km/h and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h. That’s much better most of petrol-powered cars of the same sort these days! It also offers a range of 400 km on one charge and can be recharged up to 80 percent of its capacity in just one and half hour.
If those numbers turn out to be true Luxgen Neora will be the coolest electric vehicle in the world. It is still a concept car though and will never be produced, but Luxgen says they will use its design cues in upcoming models. We would love to hear more about its amazing powertrain.
