Aston has already dispatched test mules for a harder, more powerful version of the Rapide super sedan to the Nurburgring.

This version, allegedly called the Rapide S, will be powered by the same V12 engine that you find in the DBS and V2 Vantage with an output of 510-hp. The normal Rapide has the same engine as the DB9 with 470 hp.

The standard Rapide is a pretty fast car for its size, with a 0 to 62 mph time of 5.2 seconds and top speed of 188 mph. But the Rapide S is targeted at the more keen drivers. So it will be stiffer than the normal Rapide and, based on the spyshots we’ve seen, it’ll also get a mild visual tweak to look a bit different as well. Besides the sportier chassis tune and suspension, the S will also get carbon ceramic brakes to cope with the extra power and enhanced performance. You may expect a carbon fiber interior as well.

Another thing you can expect is a price tag fatter than the Rapide’s already hefty 140,000 GBP.
