Reports from Germany indicate that Mercedes is going after cars like Bentley Continental and Porsche Panamera with a new model referred to as the “uber-CLS”.

According to Autocar this new Mercedes model will be more dramatic than than the CLS and will be quite a lot more luxurious as well. The car will slot in the range alongside the CL Class, but it won’t a normal model. This is another proof that Mercedes is building a two-tier lineup. One is the usual range of normal cars with AMG variants, and one is the high-end exclusive models such as the SLS or the SLC that we’ve just been talking about. It’s like the Delta Force to Rangers, or Navy Seals to Marines! A lineup of elites for special purposes.

This uber-CLS will also be an AMG-powered and developed car featuring a unique and fancy design. This model is mainly aimed at the traditional luxury markets like the Middle East, as well as the emerging ones in China and Russia.
