The first pictures of the latest Mercedes Benz Concept car hit the web, as the car prepares for its debut at IAA.

Mercedes have been silently working on this car, called the F125, to wow the crowd at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car obviously pays tribute to the 125th anniversary of ‘Benz’, but it also showcases new design elements we will be seeing in future production cars by the German auto maker.

In fact, you could say the F125 is a preview of the next-gen S-Class, apart from its massive gullwing doors and the hydrogen fuel cell powrtrain.

Official details are yet to be released, but based on leaked info, the F125 features four electric motors that produce 230 kW of power, enough to take this big car from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. With a full tank of hydrogen, the F125 can cover a distance of near as makes no difference 1000 km.

This hydrogen powertrain is the base for a production model to be launched in 2014.
