Just out of the blue, Lotus came up with a special edition of the Evora, in honor of dead rock star Freddie Mercury.
Yep, we too don’t remember Mr. Mercury, or his band the Queen. But we have heard their ‘Don’t stop me now‘ hit song, and enjoyed it big time.
Anyhow, this car featuring a pearl white exterior color with red and gold stripes, which are apparently inspired by one of Freddie’s costumes. The yellow interior is also designed the same way. The car also features a Montreux Freddie memorial statue and “Lover of life. Singer of songs” line on its front fender.
Lotus Evora Freddie Mercury Edition will be auctioned off on September 5 at the Savoy Hotel in London with the proceeds going to Mercury Phoenix Trust, an HIV charity organization set up after Freddie died of the same disease.
Lotus Director of Corporate Operations Gino Rosato said: “We were only too happy to contribute to this fantastic cause. We have created something very special to raise money for Mercury Phoenix Trust and we hope the car goes to a collector who really enjoys it.”
