Following the first teasers Ssangyong released official renderings of the XIV-1 concept crossover ahead of IAA debut.
The “XIV-1” is composed of the initials for “Exciting User Interface Vehicle,” whatever that means. That must have something to do with the car’s IT-based interior and connectivity features.
The concept car looks good of course, what with a two-tone color and apparently suicide doors, and full-glass roof. It previews the new design language of Ssnagyong cars. This is a major leap forward for this Korean car maker. Those who have seen their old models know what we’re on about.
“The ‘XIV-1′ focuses on realizing a future-oriented design based on our heritage, and is based on our product philosophy of ‘Robust, Specialty, and Premium,” said a spokesperson for Ssangyong Motor Company. “We believe that the vehicle, created based on a simple, dynamic and strong aesthetic value, will show the supremacy of our ingenious design.” he added.
