Mercedes ML63, the only V8-powered variant of the new M-Class, will be unveiled at this year’s Los Angeles Motor Show.

The ML63, and its predecessor ML55, have always been the more discreet choice for those looking for a fast and luxurious SUV. The rivals from Range Rovers, BMW and Audi are all quite shouty and aggressive, but an uniterested eye would struggle to tell the difference between the ML63 and a normal M-Class.

It never had any shortage of power though. And the new model will be up there as well. While it’s yet to be confirmed, but almost certainly the car will get a version of the new AMG 5.5 liter Biturbo V8. It’s not likely for Mercedes to put the old 6.3 unit in the new car.

So, stay tuned for the L.A. show.
