c3 low emission at 87g/km Citroen C3 Announced

Citroen announced its most fuel efficient and lowest CO2 emitting diesel model. It’s called – hold your breath – Citroen C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+.

That is a mouthful. But you wouldn’t mind saying that when you realize this car has a combined cycle economy of 83.1mpg, and emits no more than just 87g/km.

Helping the car to achieve this record, apart from the very efficient 68hp HDi diesel engine itself, is the innovative e-HDi micro-hybrid Stop & Start technology. Granted, with 68 hp it can barely move, but if you ever took it on the freeway you will realize it’ll do 88.3mpg there which is astonishing.

The Citroen C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+ comes as standard with panoramic Zenith windscreen, and is available to order from this month with an OTR MRRP of £15,290.

Jules Tilstone, Citroën UK’s Marketing Director, commented: “Citroën is committed to driving down the cost of motoring and this new model is a perfect example of that.  With impressive fuel economy, low CO2 emissions, a BIK rate at just 13%, free VED and the benefit of no London Congestion Charge, this stylish model is a financially and environmentally attractive addition to the Citroën range.”

Jules continued: “Underlining the brand’s firm environmental commitment, a full 50% of Citroën cars sold this year emit under 130g/km of CO2 and there has been a five-gram decrease in average CO2 emissions for the European range as a whole.”
