Audi updates its A1 range in the UK with new more powerful TDI versions and new Contrast and Black Editions.
The 143PS 2.0-litre TDI engine linked to six-speed manual transmission can be had with Sport, S line, Black Edition and Contrast Edition specification, and does 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds, and has a top speed 135mph. It also has combined fuel economy of 68.9 mpg with CO2 of 108g/km.
As for the new special editions, the A1 Contrast can be had with all engines in the A1 range with the exception of the 1.4 TFSI 185PS and adds a couple of sporty elements over the Sport trim such as an aero kit, 17-inch bi-color wheels, and of course contrasting colour for the roof line and body kit, hence the name. It is available for a premium of £1,350 over the price of an equivalent A1 Sport.
The A1 Black is exclusively available with the 185PS engine, and the newly introduced 143PS 2.0-litre TDI, and adds a black styling treatment for the single frame grille surround and number plate holder, dark tinted rear privacy glass, 18-inch five-arm rotor design alloy wheels in a titanium finish in place of the S line model’s 17-inch equivalents and Xenon Plus headlights with LED daytime-running lights.
The Black comes with a premium of £1,100 over the S line models, but it also gets full electronic climate control and Audi Sound System speaker upgrade with 180 watts of output.
