Mercedes AMG released some new footage of the 2012 SLK55 AMG, showing it drive about and cruise in and out of town.

This video kinda proves our theory about the new generation of Mercedes sportscars. This new SLK and the recently introduced 2013 Mercedes SL, they both look ungainly and frankly terrible in the pictures. But in the videos they are far more desirable. So one should imagine they would look alright in person! We know the SLK does, and we hope that’ll be the case with the SL as well.

The new SLK55 AMG has one of the most fuel efficient V8s AMG has ever made, complete with start/stop and cylinder shut-off systems. But don’t think for a minute the car’s gone all soft. It might not have the turbos, but it still makes 415 hp and maximum torque of 398 lb-ft, it still does 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and it still sounds awesome.
