BMW and the M division will unveil a new line of performance products at the Geneva Motor Show under the new ‘M Performance Automobiles’ category.
The MPA offers an exclusive range of products to make BMW M cars more engaging and appealing, both to look and to drive. Its aim is to offer the best performance cars in each class without any compromise on comfort and practicality.
That according to Dr Friedrich Nitschke, President of BMW M GmbH, means a perfect harmony between everyday usability and high-end performance. Nitschke announced plans for further additions to the new product line-up, referring to “a range including a wide variety of model series, as well as both petrol and diesel-engined variants”. The intelligent all-wheel-drive system BMW xDrive would also play a significant role in the BMW M Performance Automobiles, he added.
“The BMW M Performance Automobiles benefit from the full expertise of BMW M GmbH,” explained Nitschke. The BMW Group subsidiary can call on decades of motor sport experience when it comes to translating outstanding engine power into excellent dynamics. This development expertise also imbues the BMW M Performance Automobiles with their distinctive character.
This we think is the build up for unveiling the new BMW M6, and also the new diesel-powered M cars including the M550d 5-series sedan and the X6 M50d super diesel SUV. What they are describing as M Performance Automobiles’ main goals fit perfectly well with what the new products. They’re efficient, practical, highly usable in everyday life, and yet fast and exciting.
