The next member of BMW’s new M Performance Automobiles family is based on the new 1-Series.

M Performance cars are not fully-fledged BMW M cars. They are sort of tarted up versions of normal models with enhanced styling, dynamics, and performance. Customers can also customize their cars with a range of M Performance Parts available for each model.

In case of BMW 1 Series, M Performance treatment will add, among other things, revised bumpers, a stripe, blacked-out mirror caps, M wheels, M-badged brake calipers, and an interior full of M badges.

The car is not yet fully revealed – that’ll happen at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show – but we’re not sure the new styling details will manage to de-uglify the 1er.
