While everybody is anticipating the arrival of the new SRT Viper, an old Viper ACR-X sets a new Nurburgring record.
The car just went round the Green Hell in an amazing 7:03.058. The ACR-X is a non-street legal track car, but the record is still pretty astonishing for a big American V10 muscle car with a manual gearbox, which many people would call crude.
The ACR-X is powered by a 650-hp version of the Viper’s V10, and features track-tuned suspension, modified headers, a low-restriction exhaust system, factory-designed roll cage, fuel cell and a race seat.
