Citroen takes to Facebook to announce that DS lineup is about to expand. They haven’t actually mentioned it’s the DS9, but that is what the word is on the streets, I mean websites. The car is said to be gearing up for Beijing Motor Show debut in April. It’s part of Citroen’s efforts to “internationalization” the DS brand, as revealed by Citroen boss at Geneva Motor Show.
Frederic Banzet then talked about launching the current lineup of DS3, DS4 and DS5 in China and hinted at the upcoming model, which include a mid-size saloon, an SUV and a flagship luxury sedan, which is apparently the subject of this teaser.
The DS9 will be first launched in China, and then in Europe. It is after all based on the Metropolis concept, an astonishing sedan designed exclusively for China back in 2010. It is unlikely for the DS9 to remain completely loyal to the design of the concept car, but even if it’s half as beautiful, it’ll be something.
Citroen’s DS lineup has always been charming and very interesting. Compared to the established German cars they look fantastic.
