For those who like the look of the C63 AMG, but don’t need all that power, Mercedes announced new Sport and AMG packages. The idea is you get a normal C Coupe, a diesel for example, and then style it using these packages like an AMG. And it does fool most people. Only a real AMG nut can tell the difference.
The four-cylinder C 250 Sport and C 250 CDI Sport both benefit from sport suspension, larger brakes, speed-sensitive steering, updated ECU and transmission, and more importantly, AMG sport exhaust system which in case of the diesel engine also features a sound generator.
The AMG Plus package step things up by providing AMG 7-twin-spoke wheels, a full AMG body kit with front spoiler lip, side skirts and rear apron, as well as tailpipes. Inside the cabin you get sport seats in black ARTICO man-made leather/DINAMICA with red contrasting topstitching, sport steering wheel, designo seat belts, sport pedals and AMG floor mats.
These models are available from June 2012. The “AMG Plus Sports package” can be combined with all body and engine variants. Pricing are yet to be announced.
