At the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Land Rover unveiled a car that instantly broke our cool-o-meter. It’s a drop-top version of the Range Rover Evoque, and it’s only a concept for now, but the reasons why LR should make it outnumber the reasons why they shouldn’t. So it’ll probably be here in a few years.
Joy of joys then, a convertible Evoque will offer all the great things of the hard-top, plus the benefits of open-top motoring. There’s only one problem with this car as far as we can work out. It’s not what you call pretty with the roof up.

John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director said: “The Evoque Convertible Concept is a new twist to the Evoque story and explores the potential to further extend the nameplate’s appeal by giving existing customers more choice, whilst at the same time reaching out to a completely new customer base. We are excited to see the response to this concept as we assess the potential for building on the Evoque’s exceptional success so far.“
