Mercedes Benz UK confirmed on the road price for the new ML63 AMG super SUV. The car starts at a whopping £82,995, most of which is for the 525 hp and 700 Nm of torque 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8 engine that lies under the bonnet. You also get a different look than normal MLs, but it’s the engine really what you’re paying for.
And if you feel 83 grand is reasonable for a high-powered SUV, you may as well spend another £6,165 on the AMG Performance Package, which boosts the power to 557 hp and 760 Nm. The result of that colossal power is 0 to 60mph in 4.8 seconds, which is astonishing for a car of this size.
As for the economy, well, even with the intelligent eco mode of the 7-G Tronic seven-speed automatic transmission, the ML63 would struggle to do better than 23.9 mpg (combined), with CO2 emissions of 276 g/km.
Other notable options you might be interested in include Dinamica inserts in the grip areas (available independently for £420), an AMG carbon fibre engine cover and red-painted brake calipers. The ML 63 AMG is also offered with a Driver’s Package (£2,820), which raises the limited top speed from 155 mph to 174 mph and includes attendance at a ‘Power and Passion’ driver event.
