BMW announced its lineup for the Auto China motorshow 2012 in Beijing, and the main highlight is a long wheelbase version of the 3-Series. China as you know is where LWB cars sell very well, so all German car makers offer elongated versions of their saloon cars in that market. The long 3er has an 11 cm longer wheelbase.
There is a die range of engines available for the car, as it comes in BMW 335Li, the BMW 328Li, or the BMW 320Li. The question is why would you buy this car. I mean if you need a BMW that’s longer than the 3 Series, you go and buy the 5 or 7 Series!
The long wheelbase 3 Series will be joined by the normal wheelbase and the full hybrid model BMW ActiveHybrid 3. Also on display at the Chinese event are BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, the new BMW M6 Coupe, the new BMW X3 xDrive28i, BMW X6 facelift, BMW ConnectedDrive services and the i3 concept.
