To celebrate 40thanniversary of the M GmbH, BMW is making 450 units of the the M3 Coupe Frozen Silver Edition. 100 of those M3’s will come to the UK, sporting a price tag of £58,720. That’s £4,000 more than the standard M3, but BMW says the Frozen Silver Edition offers £9,000 worth of equipment compared to the standard car. Let’s see if it’s true.
The special edition M3 FS comes with the same 420hp V8 engine, with power transferred to the road via the standard seven-speed M DCT transmission and variable M differential. So there’s no change here.
It does however come with 10mm lowered suspension featuring a three-stage Electronic Damper Control, 19-inch light alloy wheels and a revised DSC+ system. So theoretically, it should be a bit more dynamic than the normal M3.
In terms of features and equipments, you obviously get the Frozen Silver metallic paint, complemented by matt black alloy wheels, dark Chrome exhaust, side gills and kidney surrounds, and Jet Black bonnet intakes, as well as hgh-gloss Shadowline exterior trim. Inside the cabin you find Black Novillo leather with contrast stitching and Palladium leather armrests and inserts, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, carbon fiber trimming, and some badges.
So all these stuff for an extra 4 grand, plus the exclusivity of the car… good deal?
