Before launching the new 2.0L clean turbo diesel version of the Cruze in the U.S. market, Chevrolet thought it’s a good idea to explain to the Americans why switching to diesel make sense, and also address their concerns about diesel-powered cars. You see, most Americans still think of diesel cars as noisy, rough, dirty, and inconvenient. But modern oil burners are just as good as petrol-powered engines, and much more economical.
General Motors has recognized the important role of diesel in bringing their average fuel consumption down. Having sold more than half a million diesel-powered cars across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America last year, including 33,000 Cruzes, they are bringing the Cruze diesel to America hoping to enjoy similar success in their home market and jump start sales of diesel cars in that corner of the world.
