The charismatic and ultra-stylish Citroen DS5 hits the British showrooms today offering a refreshingly different choice to those looking for family hatchback or saloon, but fed up to the back teeth with the ordinary boring cars in those segment. The DS5 is priced between £22,400 to £32,200, and even offers a hybrid variant for the more environmentally-conscious customers.

Citroen DS5 does indeed look like a Picasso painting, but under that Frenchtastic body there is a very sensible car. It has five doors, five full-size seats and up to 465-litres of boot space like very other normal car, and comes with a choice of four refined and efficient Euro V engines – THP 200, e-HDi 110, HDi 160 and the new 200hp diesel electric Hybrid4.

The hybrid version is probably the most significant one, although we prefer the THP 200 petrol engine. The hybrid delivers low CO₂ emissions from just 99g/km and savings of up to 35% during urban driving. What’s more, this model is exempt from the London congestion charge and, for business users, the BiK tax rate is just 10%.
