Lamborghini SUV Shown To Select Customers

lambo SUV at Lamborghini SUV Shown To Select Customers

Lamborghini has reportedly held a private event in New York recently, in which they showed the new and long-awaited SUV to a group of select customers and dealers. The press was not supposed to know about the event, but some of the guests who saw the car couldn’t resist tweeting and blogging about it. In a nutshell, the new Lamborghini SUV looks very close to the car seen in the rendering above.

So it seems that Quattroporte magazine who came up with this rendering has got it spot on. The Lambo SUV is described by those present at the event as a car with a profile similar to the BMW X6, a sort of coupe-like SUV, Estoque-like front-end design, and roughly the same size as the Audi Q7. Previously we had reports suggesting the new Lamborghini will be based on Porsche Cayenne platform.

The concept car shown to the VIPs at the event also has a high ground clearance, partly due to its large 24-inch wheels. But it also features a carbon fiber body kit that makes it look lower and sportier. A four-seater cabin with lots of carbon fiber trims, and a high center console that runs between the rear seats are mentioned as features of the interior.

The public will get its first look at the new Lamborghini SUV at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show April 23.
