Our wish has been granted and we finally get to see the new Mercedes C63 Black, in black. So far in all the pictures and videos the car was in ridiculous colors like red, or an insanely vulgar yellow called solar-something. And yes, in those colors, the new Black with its swollen wheel arches does look a bit immature. But in black – and a matte one no less – it is fan-bleeding-tastic.

The matte black color option is currently only offered for the right-hand-rive UK version of the car. But that’s alright, I’m prepared to move there permanently, just to get this car. Matte black does a good job obscuring most of the irritating details in the new Black’s design, such as those aerodynamic thingies on the bumper, or the holes in the bonnet.

Just one thing, if you are getting the car, whatever you do get that aero track package off it. That rear spoiler makes the C63 look like a boy racer and is very, very uncool. Without the spoiler though, the Black in black is an elegant, sporty, scarily fast coupe.
