Magny Cours race track is far less glamorous these days than when it was home to the French F1 Grand Prix, but it’s still technical enough to challenge a beast like Mercedes CLS63 AMG. The German super sedan laps the track in 1 minutes 26 seconds, but that’s not important to us. What we care about it the car’s poise and delicacy, and of course, awesome soundtrack. We especially like the noise it makes when you change gear. AMG guys are the best musicians in the automotive world.
The top-of-the-range version of the four-door coupé is equipped with the newly developed AMG V8 biturbo engine, featuring a peak output of up to 557 hp and 800 Nm of torque, as well as the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission. On top of this, the vehicle’s fuel consumption of 28.5 mpg represents an improvement of 32 per cent compared with the previous model.
