Hard to believe next year will be Aston Martin’s 100th anniversary. This is of course something they have to celebrate, and indeed they’re going to. According to Aston’s CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez, the brand’s centenary year will be marked with a new model, not a special edition, or a super car, but a normal mainstream car.
The best guess as of now is that the new car is a facelifted Aston DBS. Spy photographers recently snapped such a thing under testing. It appeared to be a DBS with modified headlights, new front and rear bumpers, and taillights similar to those of the Aston One-77.
Mind you, that is all speculations for now. Aston Martin officials remains tight lipped on the car’s specs, styling and powertrain details. The only facts revealed by Dr. Bez to Auto Express magazine is : “We have to do something remarkable to mark our centenary. It won’t be a DB9 with a Centenary Edition badge and it won’t be a limited edition like the One-77 supercar. This will be a mainstream Aston.”
We will find out more about the car soon enough, as it’s going to be revealed in Summer.
