Another feather in Range Rover Evoque’s cap. The handsome, trendy SUV has been named the 2012 Diesel Car of the Year by Diesel Car magazine. The diesel-powered Evoque is expected to the be the most popular version of the car, and this award is a good boost in self esteem for it. Evoque’s list of awards and achievements is growing by the week.

As for the other notable winner in Diesel Car magazine’s list, Chevrolet Volt and Vauxhall Ampera jointly were jointly awarded the  Best Eco Car of the Year, which is fair enough as they’re the same car with different badges.

In the small segment we have the Kia Rio occupying the top spot, while in the MPV class SEAT is victorious. Skoda’s Superb takes the triple in the best estate car class, while in the medium class Ford Focus one again is chosen a the best.

The new Citroen DS5 is the winner of the large car class, and in the sports car segment we have the Peugeot RCZ winning the title for the third consecutive year.
