BMW is updating its UK range with new models and variants from July. We just been looking at new versions of the 3-Series, but now let’s go upmarket and checkout the offerings in the sport luxury segment and the magnificent 6-Series. This year we have the amazing new Gran Coupe joining the existing models, the 6 Series Coupe and Convertible.
The Gran Coupe is basically a four-door version of the coupe, and is Bavaria’s rival for the mighty Mercedes CLS. It comes in 650i guise powered by the 4.4 liter TwinPower V8, and stats from £70,650 for the SE and £75,150 for the M Sport version.
All the 650i versions of the 6er get that superb V8 engine which makes 449hp and 650Nm of torque, 42hp and 50Nm more than the previous model. As a result, all 650i variants now accelerate from zero to 62mph in just 4.6 seconds.
But because the engine is fitted with fuel saving technologies including Auto Start-Stop and ECO PRO mode, it does 31.7mpg and 206g/km in the Coupe and the Gran Coupe, and 30.7mpg and 214g/km in the convertible. those are impressive figures for a big, meaty V8.
The 2013 650i Coupe and Convertible are £820 more expensive than before.
