Volkswagen has teamed up with the guitar maker Fender to present the production version of the Beetle Fender Edition, previously revealed as s concept car at the 2011 IAA. The Fender Beetle comes with special exterior and interior appointments, and of course a kicking Fender audio system. The car is based on the 200-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder TSI version.
On the outside the Bettle Fender features brushed chrome mirrors, 18-inch “Disc” aluminum-alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights, deep black metallic paint and some Fender logos. Inside the cabin the main highlight is the sunburst dashboard like the Fender guitars. It looks pretty cool. The 400W audio system in this car comes with nine speakers along with a 10-channel amplifier. The Beetle Fender Edition will first go on sale in Europe and will be available in America in the fall of 2012. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
This car can be cool if people know about the Fender connection. Otherwise they’re going to think you’re a hippie who thinks he’s cooler than he really is!
