Renault released an awesome new promotional film for the Alpine A110-50, a concept car designed to celebrate 50th anniversary of the original A110 Alpine. In this film the new boy meets the big daddy on some snow-covered mountain roads, and the two go for a head to head race. The interesting bit is the fact that the new Alpine is driven by an old driver – former rally driver for Renault Jean Ragnotti – and the old one by a young lad. Even though most of it is CGI, Renault has made a brilliant film here.

Even though Renault is reluctant to confirm this yet, but we’re hearing rumors that suggest the Alpine A110-50 is slated for limited production. That is a huge leap for Renault. They haven’t really made a sports car since, well, 50 years ago and the original Alpine. They have made a great number of hot hatchbacks though, but a proper sports car is a whole different ball game.  We do hope to see this car in production someday.
