Tough luck for Toyota at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours. One of their TS030 hybrid race cars driven by young Brit Anthony Davidson was wrecked after a wild crash. The accident happened when Davidson tried to take a Ferrari 458 Italia driven by Perrazini on the inside. The Ferrari driver didn’t notice the big Toyota behind him, took the line, and hit it. The collision sent the Toyota airborne. After rolling spectacularly in the air, the car hit the ground hard and was stopped by the tire wall at the side of the track.
Fortunately Anthony Davidson was not hurt in this accident. He was taken to hospital for a slight back pain, but it wasn’t anything serious and he’s no completely fine. Talk about modern safety features. Here’s some footage of the crash:
