Forget your S-Class and Panamera and Rapide and what have you. This is by far and away the coolest luxury saloon… in the world. It is a rather old Bentley Arnage fitted by guys at Wheels Boutique with a set of 21-inch Vorsteiner VS-170 in full brushed finish with Bentley center caps. And it looks utterly magnificent. It looks gangsta. It looks badass, but in a sophisticated way.
That’s kind of ironic because the Arnage is a very majestic car. A big British limo with a massive handmade chrome grille up front and more than a dozen peeled cows inside the cabin. It is an aristocrat’s car. It should not be cool. And yet in this color, and with these wheels, it just so very much is! We want one, quite badly.
The Arnage is also a rather wasteful car with an ancient 6.75-litre V8 engine that’s been around since King Edward the second. In its latest 2009 edition though, it makes 500bhp and 1000 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 60 mph is accomplished in 5.2 seconds (0-100km/h in 5.5 secs) with 100 mph reached in 12.1 seconds (0-160km/h in 12.0 seconds). And the top speed is 179 mph / 288 km/h. But the fuel consumption… well… do you really have to ask?
