You may not be familiar with Tramontana, but it’s one of the weirdest, and one of the most wonderful, supercar ever built, and it comes from Spain. It is basically a track car, but it’s road legal and can be used everyday. Well, it’s not a Honda Civic – you have to get in in like you would in a fighter jet – but you can use it. Now there’s a new version coming.
Jay Leno tested an R version of the Tramontana in California a few years ago. The car Leno drove had a 700-hp V12 engine made by AMG, hooked to a manual gearbox. So it’s only natural for the new model to have more powerrrr. News has emerged that they are working on a a version with up to 876 horsepower. That is an insane amount of power in such a lightweight car (1.3 tons) . The 700-hp R version had problems putting its power down, so this one would be just off the hook. Still, it will be a helluva lot more exciting.
The Trmontana XTR as it’s called, is not exactly a looker. But it was designed to look like an F1-racer for the roads. Not sure what is the point of that, but it kinda does.
