Audi finally released a video of the R8 e-tron’s record-setting Nurburgring lap of 8 min 9 secs. The video shows you the full lap, and it’s different than any other ‘Ring lap you may have seen before, because all you hear for over 8 minutes is tire and wind noise! The e-tron is an electric super car, powered by two electric motors with total output of 230 kW and 820 Nm of torque. It is fast, but how boring is it going to be driving a soundless supercar on normal roads?

Audi R8 e-tron is a production car and will soon join the R8’s rich lineup. To get round the sound problem, Audi will probably use one of those systems that make fake engine noise. Not sure if it’s going to work. The e-tron also suffers from poor range. They say it does 215 kilometers (133.59 miles) under normal condition. But it’s a performance car, you are not going to drive it normally.
